Subsoil Digital Twin. A new service for integrating subsurface within BIM models.

In April, we completed the implementation of the project to enhance new innovative services related to the digitization of underground infrastructure and integration with BIM models of above-ground works. The project was made possible thanks to contributions obtained from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2021-2027 program.

In general terms, it was possible to equip our organization with the necessary tools to offer services and manage data in the area of digitization and georeferencing of attributes of the subsurface, infrastructures present in the subsurface and above-ground facilities, with a view to creating digital bases and virtual environments to support BIM (Building Information Modeling) modeling. The investments made followed the two areas indicated in the project proposal phase: 1) modernization of hardware for both field survey instrumentation and IT equipment at Envia’s legal and operational headquarters; and 2) purchase of specialist software and training services in BIM.
